What we will not carry

Fetch moves ordinary things across Paris. Some things are not ordinary, and a bike bag is the wrong answer for them. Here is the whole list, with the reason for each one, because a rule you understand is a rule you can follow.
You confirm you have read this list every time you send a mission. If a runner finds a prohibited item at the pickup they will refuse it, and you will still be charged the fare for the journey they made.
Pets, which we do carry
A cat that needs to get to a sitter, a dog that needs walking to somebody else's flat: those are missions we take, under rules that keep the animal safe. Say what the animal is when you book, and make sure somebody is there at both ends.
A cat or a small animal in a carrier
In a closed carrier the whole way, handed over by the owner and received by somebody expecting it. The runner never opens the carrier, never leaves it alone, and never puts it in a boot.
A dog on a lead, walked between two addresses
If the walk is inside the pilot zone the runner can take the dog on foot. Tell us the breed and the size when you book, and whether it is comfortable with strangers. A dog that is not is a dog we will decline at the door.
What we still will not do with an animal
No animal left unattended at either end. Nothing sedated, unwell, injured, pregnant or very young. No transport in a bag that is not a proper carrier, no animal on a scooter, and nothing over a distance that would distress it. If the runner judges the animal is not safe to move, they stop and you are not charged.
The list
Wallets, purses and handbags with contents
They hold cards, cash and identity documents, so they inherit every reason those are on this list. An empty bag being returned is fine. A wallet is not.
Cash, cheques and payment cards
Nothing about a handover chain can make cash safe to move, and no photo proves how much was in the envelope. If money needs to get somewhere, use a bank transfer.
Jewellery, watches and precious metals
Small, extremely valuable and impossible to replace. These sit far above what we can put right, and they attract exactly the kind of trouble we do not want near our runners.
Identity and official documents
Passports, identity cards, residence permits, driving licences, birth certificates. Losing one of these costs you months, not money, and no compensation makes that good. Take them yourself.
High value electronics above the cap
Laptops, cameras and phones are fine when they are honestly declared and sit under the cap. Above it, we are not the right way to move them.
Prescription medicines
Anything a pharmacist has to hand to the named patient in person, with advice. Over the counter medicine is fine: the runner is going on your behalf and carries the sealed bag from the counter to your door, without opening it or advising you on it.
Alcohol and tobacco to anyone under 18
French law is clear and so are we. A runner will check age at the door and will refuse the handover if there is any doubt.
Weapons and anything that goes bang
Firearms, ammunition, knives sold as weapons, fireworks, gas canisters, fuel, solvents, corrosives. Runners travel by bike and scooter through dense traffic. This is a safety line, not a paperwork one.
Drugs and anything illegal
Illegal substances, stolen goods, counterfeits, anything you have no right to move. The runner may refuse it and hand it to the authorities where the law requires that.
Anything needing a cold chain, and hazardous or perishable goods
Frozen food, unrefrigerated fresh meat or fish, medical samples, biological material, clinical waste. We cannot keep a temperature and we will not pretend otherwise.
The declared value cap
Every object mission asks you what the item is worth. During the pilot the app will not accept an item declared above 100,00 €. That number is not a formality and it is not there to protect us from you. It is the honest edge of what we can actually make right on our own, today, without pretending to be an insured specialist carrier.
So please declare the real value. If an item is lost or damaged, what we can do is bounded by what you declared. An item declared at 20 € that was really a 900 € camera cannot be made right at 900 €, and the moment to discover that is not after it has gone missing.
If the thing you need moved is worth more than the cap, do not send it through Fetch. Use an insured specialist courier. We would rather lose the fare than lose something you cannot replace.
If something goes wrong anyway
Every mission has a route, timestamps, a pickup photo, a delivery photo and two PINs behind it. When you raise a support ticket, a person at Fetch reads it with all of that in front of them. Where the mission failed because of us or the runner, we put it right: a refund of the fare, a credit, or compensation up to the declared value and within the pilot cap. Where the item should never have been sent through Fetch in the first place, we cannot.
